# AnimalTrakker® Farm Mobile Screens This section will walk you through [[AnimalTrakker® Farm Mobile Overview|Farm Mobile's]] many screens and what they do. While we've taken steps to document Farm Mobile's screens as thoroughly as possible in this section, please keep in mind that the program is still in active development. As such, your experience may differ. Currently, the base version of Farm Mobile is tuned to suit the needs of [our sheep farm](https://desertweyr.com/) first and foremost. You may see different options if your system tracks a species other than sheep, but the general flow of tasks and screens will be the same. If you run into anything problematic and need advice, please don't hesitate to reach out to us at [email protected]. ## Scan and Print Screen The AnimalTrakker® **Scan and Print** function is a dedicated area for you to print and scan BaaCode labels. These labels link back to specific animals in your database. If you purchased our [[Suggested AnimalTrakker® Hardware#Preloaded RTU AnimalTrakker® System $750 + Shipping|hardware kit]], you already have a printer capable of printing BaaCodes and a BaaCode reader to read them. The Scan and Print screen has four fields: **Electronic ID**, **Tag Type**, **Tag Color**, and **Tag Number**. At least one ID entry is required to use Scan and Print. - The **Electronic ID** field is a text entry box. You can use the [[The Farm Mobile Header Menu - Bluetooth Status, Scan EID, Look Up Animal, Alert, and More#Using the Scan EID Function|Scan EID]] button at the top of the page to enter the EID automatically. You can also type it in by hand. - The **Tag Type** and **Tag Color** dropdown menus are necessary for adding non-EID identification to your labels. AnimalTrakker® currently recognizes [[AnimalTrakker® Supported ID Types and Colors|these ID types and colors]]. - The **Tag Number** field is also a text entry box. Use it to enter and record non-EID tag codes. When you're ready to print a label, click the *Print Label* button. A print menu will appear. Use these labels in combination with the BaaCode reader to facilitate easy access to test results, physical records, and more. Please note that the Scan and Print function *does not* add any new data to your AnimalTrakker® database. Its only function is scanning and printing labels. If you'd like to add or update an animal's ID, please proceed to the [[#Update Animal ID|Update Animal ID]] section. ## Animal/EID Management The **Animal/EID Management** section allows you to add or change animal and ID data in your database. Currently, the Animal/EID Management section houses [[#Scan, Count, and Log|Scan, Count, and Log]], [[#Simple Add Animal|Simple Add Animal]], [[#Update Animal ID|Update Animal ID]], and [[#Animal Deaths|Animal Deaths]]. ### Scan, Count, and Log The **Scan, Count, and Log** function allows you to create batch lists of animals through Farm Mobile. It also allows you to use race readers. This function records all EIDs that pass through your reader while the program is running. It then exports the list of EIDs to a text file on your device. If you intend to use a race reader with Scan, Count, and Log, we highly recommend enabling **De-Duplication** first. Most race readers are designed to scan tags multiple times per second, and this can result in duplicate entries. [[Start Here|AnimalTrakker®]] solves this problem by running a routine that manually de-duplicates your data. **To enable de-duplication**, follow these steps: 1. Open the AnimalTrakker® Farm Mobile app and go to the main menu. 2. Hit the three dots at the upper right corner of the screen. 3. Click **Settings** > **Reader Settings** > **De-Duplicate EID Tags**. 4. You're ready to use your race reader. Navigate back to **Animal/EID Management** > **Scan, Count, and Log** to resume. Before you begin scanning, [[The Farm Mobile Header Menu - Bluetooth Status, Scan EID, Look Up Animal, Alert, and More#Bluetooth Connection Symbol|make sure your reader is connected]] to AnimalTrakker®. Click *Start Count* to begin the process. As you scan your livestock, AnimalTrakker® will record each entry. Hit *Stop Count* when you're finished. Use *Reset Count* to start over. By default, your log will save to the Documents folder of your device. Make sure to **disable de-duplication** when you're done. Even with de-duplication enabled, duplicates can still occasionally make their way into your logs, especially if an animal pauses inside the reader. We recommend manually proofreading for duplicates once you've finished. ### Simple Add Animal **Simple Add Animal** allows you to quickly add new animals to your [[AnimalTrakker® Database Overview|Database]]. Simple Add Animal has multiple data fields for you to complete. These include the **Animal Name**, **Ranch Owner**, **Animal Breed**, **Animal Sex**, **Age (Years)**, **Age (Months)**, **ID Type**, **ID Location**, **ID Color**, and **Tag Number**. %%tag format and minimum ID requirements need to go here%% - The **Animal Name** field is a simple text entry box. Type the name of your animal here. - The **Ranch Owner** field should be pre-filled with the name of your farm or ranch. If not, you can click on the box and use the *Filter* field at the top to find your name quickly. - The **Animal Breed** box holds a list of all the breeds of your selected species currently recognized by AnimalTrakker®. Please note that the breeds you see will differ based on the species your settings file is [[#Setup|set up]] to handle. - Use the **Animal Sex** box to enter the sex of your animal. Your options will differ between species. AnimalTrakker®'s sheep settings allow you to choose between *Ram*, *Ewe*, *Wether*, *Spayed Ewe*, and *Unknown*. - Use the **Years** and **Months** boxes to enter the approximate age of your animal. Currently, age tops out at 11 years and 11 months. <details>
(Click to expand) The following list contains AnimalTrakker®'s recognized sheep breeds.

Columbia

Rambouillet

Merino

Merino Polled

Dohne Merino

Hampshire

Suffolk

White Face Cross

Crossbred

Black Face Cross

Unknown

Polypay>

Black Welsh Mountain

Chocolate Welsh Mountain

White Welsh Mountain

Black Welsh Mountain (UK)

Barbados Blackbelly

Blue Faced Leicester

Border Cheviot

Border Leicester

Charollais

Clun Forest

Coopworth

Corriedale

Cotswold

Dorper

Dorset Horn

Drysdale

East Friesian

Finnish Landrace

Florida Cracker

Gulf Coast

Hog Island

Icelandic

Ile de France

Jacob

Karakul

Katahdin

Kerry Hill

Lacaune Dairy Sheep

Leicester Longwool

Lincoln

Montadale

Navajo Churro

North Country Cheviot

Oxford

Perendale

Romanov

Romedale/CVM

Romney

Ryeland

Santa Cruz

Scottish Blackface

Shetland

Shropshire

Soay

Southdown

St. Croix

Targhee

Teeswater

Texel

Tunis

Wiltshire Horn

Hair Sheep Cross

</details> Finally, you'll see three additional rows of menus near the bottom of the screen titled **ID Type**, **ID Location**, and **ID Color**. Use these rows to enter the [[AnimalTrakker® Supported ID Types and Colors|ID information]] of your animal. Simple Add Animal currently supports up to three IDs on screen. Each animal requires at least one ID entry to be saved to the database. You can [[The Farm Mobile Header Menu - Bluetooth Status, Scan EID, Look Up Animal, Alert, and More#Using the Scan EID Function|use your EID reader]] to make entering electronic tags easier. Other ID types must be entered by hand. When you've finished entering your data, click the *Update Database* button at the top right of the screen to save your entry. ### Update Animal ID **Update Animal ID** allows you to change or update the ID information of animals in your database. Use [[The Farm Mobile Header Menu - Bluetooth Status, Scan EID, Look Up Animal, Alert, and More#Using the Scan EID Function|Scan EID]] or [[The Farm Mobile Header Menu - Bluetooth Status, Scan EID, Look Up Animal, Alert, and More#Using the Look Up Animal Function|Look Up Animal]] to find the animal whose ID you want to change. Once you've selected an animal, you'll see its existing ID types listed on screen. - **To add a new ID**, enter the [[AnimalTrakker® Supported ID Types and Colors|ID's type, location, color]], and number into the empty boxes on the screen. The ID number box will not activate until the *Type*, *Location*, and *Color* boxes have been filled. When you've filled all applicable fields, click *Add ID* to save the new ID to your animal. - **To edit an existing ID**, click the pencil symbol next to the one you want to change. The next screen will show a *Current ID* section and an *Update To* section. Use *Update To* to enter the new information for your animal, then use *Update ID* to save the changes. - **To delete an ID type**, click the trash can symbol next to the one you want to delete. Next, choose a reason for removal. A confirmation will appear asking if you're sure. Click *Yes* to remove the ID, or *No* to return to the previous screen. ### Animal Deaths The **Animal Deaths** screen allows you to record the deaths of animals in your flock. Start by selecting an animal using [[The Farm Mobile Header Menu - Bluetooth Status, Scan EID, Look Up Animal, Alert, and More#Using the Look Up Animal Function|manual search]] or [[The Farm Mobile Header Menu - Bluetooth Status, Scan EID, Look Up Animal, Alert, and More#Using the Scan EID Function|EID scanning]]. The selected animal's information will appear on screen. Click the grey **Cause of Death** box and choose the reason for death from the menu. AnimalTrakker® has a long list of reasons for death preloaded on the system. You can type your reason into the *Filter* field at the top of the list to find it quickly. If you'd like a different cause of death added to the system, please let us know. <details>
(Click to expand) The following is the current default list of AnimalTrakker® causes of death.

Birth Defect

Culled

Dystocia

Euthanized

Illness

Parasites

Injury

Old Age

Meat

Other

Stillborn

Unknown

Predator Unknown

Predator Dog

Predator Fox

Predator Coyote

Predator Wolf

Predator Bobcat

Predator Mountain Lion

Predator Black Bear

Predator Grizzly Bear

Administrative

Predator

</details> After choosing a cause of death, enter the **Date of Death** in the next field. The current date will be chosen by default. To change it, click the box and choose the correct date. When you've finished, click *Update Database* to save your changes. ## Animal Evaluation The **Animal Evaluation** menu is a hub containing different tools for evaluating the health of your stock. Currently, it contains [[#Optimal Livestock Ram BSE|Optimal Livestock Ram BSE]], [[#Optimal Livestock Ewe Ultrasound|Optimal Livestock Ewe Ultrasound]], [[#Take Tissue Samples|Take Tissue Samples]], [[#Evaluate Animal|Evaluate Animal]], and [[#Create Evaluation|Create Evaluation]]. ### Optimal Livestock Ram BSE The **Optimal Livestock Ram BSE** (Breeding Soundness Exam) helps you evaluate the reproductive health of your rams. We created this exam with the help of [Optimal Livestock](http://www.optimallivestock.com/) specifically for their breeding soundness program. Note that if you select an animal that is not eligible for the exam, a pop-up window will notify you. Currently, AnimalTrakker® allows you to track **Scrotal Circumference**, **Body Condition Score**, and **Scrotal Palpation** through this function. **Scrotal Circumference** and **Body Condition Score** are both text entry boxes. Simply enter the measurement or score you've recorded in the box. **Scrotal Palpation** is a dropdown menu. Your choices for Scrotal Palpation are *Satisfactory*, *Unsatisfactory*, and *Not Checked*. Optimal Livestock Ram BSE also has **Deferred traits** that will need to be uploaded to your database later. These are for testing semen motility and morphology. The idea is that you'll take semen samples and Optimal Livestock will determine the semen characteristics, and they will input the results of the analysis at a later date through Deferred traits. To learn more about Deferred traits, please see [[#Create Evaluation|Create Evaluation]]. Once you enter the results of your exam, they will save as an [[The Farm Mobile Mini Menu - Notes, Alerts, and Animal Details#Notes and Alerts|Alert]] under the animal in question. You can view these results at any time by [[The Farm Mobile Header Menu - Bluetooth Status, Scan EID, Look Up Animal, Alert, and More#Using The Alert Button|viewing the animal's Alerts]]. Once you press the *Update Database* button, any information you've entered will be saved to the animal. ### Optimal Livestock Ewe Ultrasound The **Optimal Livestock Ewe Ultrasound** offers similar health tracking to the [[#Optimal Livestock Ram BSE|Optimal Livestock Ram BSE]], but for ewes rather than rams. We created this exam with the help of [Optimal Livestock](http://www.optimallivestock.com/) specifically for their breeding soundness program. Note that if you select an animal that is not eligible, a pop-up window will notify you. Currently, Optimal Livestock Ewe Ultrasound allows you to track **Number of Lambs Expected**, **Gestation Days Early**, **Gestation Days Late**, and **Pregnancy Status**. - The **Number of Lambs Expected** uses a star ranking system; simply select the number of stars to match the number of lambs the ewe is expecting. Currently, this ranking system tops out at five lambs. - **Gestation Days Early** and **Gestation Days Late** are both text entry boxes. Enter the number of days early or late in each associated box. - **Pregnancy Status** is a drop-down menu. Your choices are *Pregnant*, *Unsure*, *Not Pregnant*, and *Not Scanned*. Once you enter the results of your ultrasound, they will save as an [[The Farm Mobile Mini Menu - Notes, Alerts, and Animal Details#Notes and Alerts|Alert]] under the animal in question. ### Take Tissue Samples The **Take Tissue Samples** function allows you to use BaaCodes to tie lab tests directly to animals in your database. This makes uploading the results to your database incredibly easy, and it makes results tracking nigh-foolproof. To start using Take Tissue Samples, you'll first select an animal to test. Then, navigate through the boxes on-screen to enter relevant data. You'll see **Laboratory**, **Tissue Type**, **Test Type**, **Sample Container**, **Container ID**, and **Container Expiration Date**. While AnimalTrakker® already has built-in functionality to support a wide range of tests, laboratories, tissues, and more, if you can't find what you're looking for, please contact us. We're happy to add it for you. <details>
(Click to expand) Under Laboratory, Farm Mobile currently preloads information for the following providers. It's most often used with Allflex TSU sample tubes which feature a datamatric code on the tube itself. AnimalTrakker® stores the specific sample tube identificatin with the animal to ensure accurate report of tissue test results. **Container Exp. Date** brings up a calendar that you can use to select an expiration date. It will select today's date by default. This is particularly useful for sample containers like Trich Tubes whose collection media expire. Once you've entered all relevant info, click *Update Database* to save the test to the animal. You can also print a label using your attached printer by hitting the *Print Label* button near the bottom right of the screen. If you need multiple labels you can continue to print another label from this screen. The labels contain the bar code of the animals EID tag, a human readable text version of the tag, a date and time code, a single line of text that is the same on all labels for this run, often the veterinarian name or a phone number. ### Evaluate Animal The **Evaluate Animal** screen allows you to utilize evaluations you've created in the past using the [[#Create Evaluation|Create Evaluation]] tool. You can use the filters at the top to search through your evaluations easily. Once you've selected your evaluation, it will show up on screen. Select an animal, fill out the evaluation as much as you need, then hit *Update Database* to make it permanent. The next time you look up an animal you've evaluated, the results will be readable under the *Evaluations* tab. If you toggle the *Summarize in Alert* button to *On* when creating the evaluation, you'll see the info pop up as an [[The Farm Mobile Mini Menu - Notes, Alerts, and Animal Details#Notes and Alerts|Alert]] as well. If you've created multiple evaluations in AnimalTrakker® Farm Mobile, you can use the drop down menu at the bottom of the screen to switch between evaluations quickly. ### Create Evaluation **Create Evaluation** is a flexible tool that allows you to create custom evaluations with which you can compare or sort your flock. These evaluations work similarly to the Optimal Livestock exams, but you can make them yourself with exactly the metrics you need to track. Start by naming your evaluation. We recommend choosing something memorable that'll be a good signifier of what the evaluation is for. Next, use the boxes on-screen to select the traits you want to evaluate. By default, the Create Evaluation function allows you to choose from **Scored Traits**, **Unit Traits**, and **Custom Traits**. - A **Scored Trait** allows you to "rank" each trait using a star system, ranging from one to five stars. - **Unit Traits** allow you to track traits that can be measured in units (such as days, inches, or pounds) instead of a ranking system. Once you've selected a Unit Trait, the **Unit** box below it will become active and allow you to select your unit of measurement. - **Custom Traits** contain results that you may want to track or evaluate, but which may not have numerical values of any kind. Each Custom Trait allows for a pre-selected set of responses. We are continually adding more metrics in response to our users' needs. Please note that the traits below are the default options for an AnimalTrakker® system designed to track sheep; if your system is set up for a different species, your options may differ. <details>
(Click to expand) This is AnimalTrakker®'s current list of Scored Traits.

FAMACHA

Teeth Alignment

Missing Teeth

White on Nose

Head

Horn Shape

Horn Buds

Body

Legs

Udder Lumps

White in Britch or Body

Mothering Ability

Fleece Quality

Fleece Soft

Fleece Crimp

Tail Length

Temperament

Scrotal Palpation Scored

Number of Lambs Expected

Ram Lambs Born

Wether lambs Born

Ewe Lambs Born

Unknown Sex Lambs Born

Stillborn Lambs

Aborted Lambs

Adopted Lambs

Male Animals Born

Female Animals Born

Unknown Sex Animals Born

Stillborn Animals

General Health

Sub Orbital Pit Size

Extra Nipples

Teeth Shape

Horn Width

Ewe Birth Ease

</details> <details>
(Click to expand) This is AnimalTrakker®'s default list of Unit Traits.

Blood LH via ELISA Test

Body Length Point of Shoulder to Point of Hip

Body Condition Score

Body Length Poll to Pin Bone

Carcass Weight

FEC

FEC Capillarid

FEC Eimeria

FEC Moniezia

FEC Nematodirus

FEC Other

FEC Strongyles

FEC Strongyloides

FEC Trichuris

Fleece Length

Fleece Weight

Gestation Days Early

Gestation Days Late

Heartgirth

Insemination Depth

Loin Eye Area Ultrasound

Loin Eye Muscle Depth Ultrasound

Loin Fat Depth Ultrasound

Scrotal Circumference

Sperm Morphology % Normal

Sperm Motility % Motile

Weight

Width Hip to Hip Across Back

B. You can use the on-screen toggles below each trait to turn them into Optional or Deferred traits. Any trait without either of these toggles set to *On* is considered a Required trait. 1. Required traits *must* be filled out before you can submit an animal evaluation. 2. Optional traits will always be visible on the evaluations you create, but they do not always need to be filled out. You can ignore or skip Optional traits as you fill out your evaluations. 3. Deferred traits will not be visible on the initial pass of your evaluation. Use Deferred traits to supplement your evaluations with information or test results at a later date. Create Evaluation currently allows for ten Scored Traits, five Unit Traits, and five Custom Traits on one evaluation. Before you update your database, please be aware of the *Summarize in Alert* toggle at the very top of the page, below the evaluation name. By toggling this on, you can make the results of your evaluation show in an [[The Farm Mobile Mini Menu - Notes, Alerts, and Animal Details#Notes and Alerts|Alert]] whenever you bring up the attached animal. The *Clear Data* button allows you to empty the form at any time as long as you haven't saved. The *Update Database* button will save your changes. Please double-check your data before submitting. ## Animal Care/Vet The **Animal Care/Vet** hub is your location for recording drug administrations, general animal care tasks, and the like. Under the Animal Care/Vet menu, you have access to [[#Give Drugs|Give Drugs]], [[#Vaccinate and Deworm|Vaccinate and Deworm]], and [[#General Animal Care|General Animal Care]]. ### Give Drugs The **Give Drugs** screen allows you to administer on-label and off-label drugs to your animals. Start by using the *Add Drug* menu at the bottom of the screen. Currently, AnimalTrakker® supports adding six types of drugs: *Analgesic*, *Antibiotic*, *Coccidiostat*, *Feed Supplement*, *Hormone*, and *Insecticide*. After choosing your drug type, hit *Add.* You'll then see a configuration screen. On the following screen, you'll see three boxes labeled **(Drug Type)**, **Off Label Dose**, and **Administer Via**. - The **(Drug Type)** box will allow you to choose a Drug Lot that you've added to Farm Mobile. If there are none available, you'll have to go to the [[#Add Drug Lot|Add Drug Lot]] screen and add one there first. - Choose an **Off-Label Dose** from the second menu, if applicable and available. (New [[#Add Off Label Dose|off-label doses]] must be approved by a veterinarian.) This step is optional. - The **Administer Via** box will allow you to choose your administration method. <details>
(Click to expand) AnimalTrakker®'s supported administration methods are listed below.

Subcutaneous Right Side Armpit

Subcutaneous Left Side Armpit

Intermuscular Neck

Vagina

Mouth Drench

Intermuscular Neck

Subcutaneous Right Side Neck

Subcutaneous Left Side Neck

Intravenous

Subcutaneous Right Side Behind Ear

Subcutaneous Left Side Behind Ear

Eye

Subcutaneous Neck

Unknown

Pour On Back

Subcutaneous Behind Ear

</details> Hit *Configure* to save your settings. AnimalTrakker® will take you back to the Give Drugs screen. Use the three dots next to your medication to edit or delete it, if necessary. You can add multiple drugs and use the check box next to them to activate and deactivate them as necessary for each animal. Next, use [[The Farm Mobile Header Menu - Bluetooth Status, Scan EID, Look Up Animal, Alert, and More#Using the Look Up Animal Function|Look Up Animal]] or [[The Farm Mobile Header Menu - Bluetooth Status, Scan EID, Look Up Animal, Alert, and More#Using the Scan EID Function|Scan EID]] to choose the animal you'd like to administer to. Enter your animal's weight in the *Weight* box. If you have a scale connected to your AnimalTrakker® system, simply tap the box to record weight. The green pencil button inside the weight box allows you to enter weights by hand, and the three dots let you to edit or clear data. Weights are optional but can be useful to determine exact dosages. Finally, Click *Update Database* to add the drug information to the chosen animal. You can use Give Drugs to load different animals and apply the same drug administrations over and over. This makes treating multiple animals at the same time very easy. AnimalTrakker® will automatically add withdrawal period [[The Farm Mobile Mini Menu - Notes, Alerts, and Animal Details#Notes and Alerts|Alerts]] to the animals you treat. ### Vaccinate and Deworm **Vaccinate and Deworm**, as the name implies, is a dedicated area to track vaccinations and dewormers given to your animals. The Vaccinate and Deworm screen works exactly the same as the Give Drugs screen, with the only difference being that your choices are *Add Vaccine* and *Add Dewormer* instead of *Add Drug*. Please visit the [[#Give Drugs|Give Drugs]] section to learn how to use Vaccinate and Deworm. ### General Animal Care The **General Animal Care** screen is your hub for non-drug animal care tasks. Currently, Farm Mobile supports **Check Hooves**, **Check Horns**, **Shoe**, **Shear**, **Wean**, and **Weigh** for sheep. You can select multiple options to evaluate at the same time. Start by clicking the *Configure* button at the bottom right of the General Animal Care screen. On the next screen, click the check box next to each task you'd like to complete, then select *Done*. Boxes representing the tasks you've selected will populate on the next screen for you. Use the three dots next to each task to edit or delete them as needed. To start your workflow, bring up the first animal you'd like to evaluate using the [[The Farm Mobile Header Menu - Bluetooth Status, Scan EID, Look Up Animal, Alert, and More#Using the Scan EID Function|Scan EID]] or [[The Farm Mobile Header Menu - Bluetooth Status, Scan EID, Look Up Animal, Alert, and More#Using the Look Up Animal Function|Look Up Animal]] functions. Click the check box next to each care task you'd like to perform on that animal. Some tasks will have a simple toggle (such as *Shod*) showing that you performed the task; others, like *Hoof Check*, will take you to a secondary menu to record more information. Click *Done* on this secondary menu once you've finished recording information. As you move through your care task list, the ones you've completed will gain a check mark in the lower right corner. The border around the task will also turn green to denote completion. Here's a breakdown of the specifics of each General Animal Care task: - **Check Hooves** allows you to mark *Hooves Trimmed*, *Observed Foot Rot*, and *Observed Foot Scald*. For each option, you can select *None*, *All*, *Front Left*, *Front Right*, *Hind Left*, and *Hind Right*. - **Check Horns** allows you to mark *Bad Horns* and *Sawed Horns*. For each option, you can select *None*, *Both*, *Left*, and *Right*. - **Wean**, **Shod**, and **Shear** are simple toggles that can be turned on or off. - **Weight** can be tapped to automatically record weight if your AnimalTrakker® system is connected to a scale. If not, you can enter weights manually by clicking the green pencil. When you're finished evaluating an animal, click *Update Database* to add the results to their record. These general care tasks are recorded as [[The Farm Mobile Mini Menu - Notes, Alerts, and Animal Details#Notes and Alerts|Notes]]. You can look up additional animals and apply the same general care tasks to them as well. ## Birthing The **Birthing** menu is your hub for lambing and other birth-related tasks. Currently, the Birthing menu offers [[#Simple Lambing|Simple Lambing]], [[#Detailed Lambing|Detailed Lambing]], and [[#Simple Births|Simple Births]]. ### Simple Lambing **Simple Lambing** allows you to quickly and easily record details when a ewe lambs. The purpose of Simple Lambing is to efficiently add data to the ewe's profile rather than to add new lambs to the database. Using Simple Lambing, you can track the following: - **Wether Lambs Born** - **Ewe Lambs Born** - **Ram Lambs Born** - **Unknown Sex Lambs Born** - **Stillborn Lambs** - **Aborted Lambs** - **Adopted Lambs** To use Simple Lambing, start by pulling up the ewe you want to update. Then, use the star system to give her a rating of one to five in each applicable category. Press *Update Database* when you're finished to permanently add the data to her profile. This information will be stored under the ewe's [[The Farm Mobile Mini Menu - Notes, Alerts, and Animal Details#Animal Details|Breeding Summary]] and [[#Evaluate Animal|Evaluations]]. Please note that the animal you select *must be a sheep and a ewe* to use Simple Lambing. If you select an animal that is not a sheep and/or not a ewe, a dialog box will pop up letting you know the animal is not compatible with Simple Lambing. ### Detailed Lambing **Detailed Lambing** is a program that allows you to track new lambs and add them to the database. To use Detailed Lambing, start by looking up the birthing ewe using [[The Farm Mobile Header Menu - Bluetooth Status, Scan EID, Look Up Animal, Alert, and More#Using the Look Up Animal Function|manual lookup]] or [[The Farm Mobile Header Menu - Bluetooth Status, Scan EID, Look Up Animal, Alert, and More#Using the Scan EID Function|Scan EID]]. Please note that selecting a ram or deceased sheep will result in a dialog box warning that you the animal is not compatible with Detailed Lambing. After you select a ewe, her info will appear near the top of the screen. If the ewe has a breeding history in the system, it will appear as well. To add new offspring, click the green *Add Offspring* button at the bottom right of the screen. AnimalTrakker® will populate the *Add Offspring* screen with any known information about the new lamb. *Sire Name*, *Dam Name*, and *Service Type* will be pre-filled. The following boxes require you to manually add information to the record: - **Rear Type** allows you to choose between *Single*, *Twin*, *Triplet*, *Quadruplet*, *Quintuplet*, *Sextuplet*, *Seven*, *Eight*, *Nine*, *Ten*, *Eleven*, *Twelve*, *Thirteen*, *Fourteen*, *Fifteen*, *Sixteen*, and *Unknown*. - **Sex** allows you to choose between *Ram*, *Ewe*, *Wether*, *Unknown*, and *Spayed Ewe*. - **Lamb Ease** lets you choose from *Unassisted*, *Easy Pull*, *Hard Pull*, *Malrepresentation*, and *Veterinary Assistance*. - **Suck Reflex** can be set to *Not Tested*, *No Suck*, *Poor Suck*, *Good Suck*, or *Great Suck*. - **Coat Color** depends on your selected breed. Black Welsh Mountain sheep, for example, allow you to choose between *Black* and *Red*. - **Weight** can be inputted using either a Bluetooth-connected scale or manual entry. Clicking the scale icon will record the animal's weight automatically, while clicking the pencil icon will allow you to type it in. - **Is Still Born?** is a simple toggle *Yes* or *No*. - **Mark Dam?** will be greyed out unless you add a paint brand to the lamb. Once you do, *Mark Dam?* will enable, allowing you to add the same brand to the ewe if desired. Finally, the three rows near the bottom of the screen allow you to enter the new lamb's identification info. Farm Mobile allows three different [[AnimalTrakker® Supported ID Types and Colors|ID types]] to be entered at one time. Please note that at least one valid ID type is required to enter a new lamb into the database. Once you've finished adding all of your information, click *Update Database*. A dialogue box will appear notifying you of any issues or a successful add. Pressing OK will allow you to continue adding offspring to the currently selected ewe. Please note that there is no way to add custom names to lambs added via Detailed Lambing at this time. This is to prevent duplicate names for lambs when they're initially entered. ### Simple Births **Simple Births** is very similar to [[#Simple Lambing|Simple Lambing]], but without the emphasis on sheep. The birthing animal must be female. Simple Births can track **Male Animals Born**, **Female Animals Born**, **Unknown Sex Animals Born**, and **Stillborn Animals**. Select a star rating from one to five for each category you'd like to record, then hit *Update Database* to permanently add the information to the birthing animal's data. This information will be saved as an [[#Evaluate Animal|Evaluation]]. ## Animal Movements The **Animal Movements** menu is your hub for moving, relocating, and selling animals. You'll find tools here for selling breeding animals, culling those you no longer want to keep, and even special uses like offsite grazing. Your options are [[#Simple Sort|Simple Sort]] and [[#Move to New Premise|Move To New Premise]]. ### Simple Sort The **Simple Sort** function allows you to add records when sorting and evaluating the sheep on your farm. Simple Sort works by adding an [[The Farm Mobile Mini Menu - Notes, Alerts, and Animal Details#Notes and Alerts|Alert]] to your animal based on the results of your sorting session. Simple Sort allows you to choose between *Keep*, *Ship*, *Cull*, and *Other*. To use it, start by choosing an animal in your database. Its information will populate on your screen. Then, select the sorting result you want from the grey dropdown box next to *Simple Sort*. Then, hit *Update Database* to apply the alert. A confirmation and the alert will pop up on your screen. If *Keep*, *Ship*, *Cull*, and *Other* don't accurately describe what you want, you can click the [[The Farm Mobile Mini Menu - Notes, Alerts, and Animal Details#Notes and Alerts|bell-shaped icon]] on the right of the screen to add a custom alert at any time. Just type the information you want into the custom alert, then click *Update Database* to save it. ### Move to New Premise **Move to New Premise** is currently a work in progress, and it requires the use of [[AnimalTrakker® Farm Desktop Overview|Farm Desktop]]. If you'd like to add a new premise to your Farm Mobile system, please send us a message. We'll be happy to set it up for you. ## Animal History **Animal History** is your place to look up historical data on the animals in your database. You can use [[The Farm Mobile Header Menu - Bluetooth Status, Scan EID, Look Up Animal, Alert, and More#Using the Look Up Animal Function|manual lookup]] and [[The Farm Mobile Header Menu - Bluetooth Status, Scan EID, Look Up Animal, Alert, and More#Using the Scan EID Function|EID scanning]] to bring up the animal. Once the animal is pulled up, use the tabs on screen to view *Notes*, *Drug History*, *Tissue Samples*, *Lab Tests*, and *Evaluations*. You can access the [[The Farm Mobile Mini Menu - Notes, Alerts, and Animal Details|Farm Mobile Mini-Menu]] from this screen for more in-depth details of your animal's history, too. ## Setup The **Setup** menu is where you'll find [[#Select Saved Defaults|Select Saved Defaults]] and [[#Manage Drugs|Manage Drugs]]. ### Select Saved Defaults **Select Saved Defaults** is where you'll find the default settings for your operation. A general default will be located here as well. This menu is mostly for use by admins, and it contains the various IDs and settings unique to your AnimalTrakker® system. We don't recommend changing these defaults except for debugging purposes. ### Manage Drugs **Manage Drugs** is your hub for adding new drugs and dosages to your AnimalTrakker® system. Within this menu, you can access [[#Add Drug|Add Drug]], [[#Add Dose|Add Dose]], [[#Add Off Label Dose|Add Off Label Dose]], and [[#Add Drug Lot|Add Drug Lot]]. #### Add Drug **Add Drug** allows you to add new types of medication that haven't already been loaded into your AnimalTrakker® system. Farm Mobile comes preloaded with several drugs, but it's always possible to add more. When you click on Add Drug, a configurator will pop up on screen. There will be three main sections: **Drug Details**, **Dosage Details**, and **Off Label Dosage**. <details>
(Click to expand) Here's a breakdown of what you'll see under Drug Details.

Drug Type is a dropdown menu. Through the Database Management menu, you can [[#Backup Database to Documents|Backup Database to Documents]], [[#Select New Database|Select New Database]], and [[#Load Seed Database|Load Seed Database]]. ### Backup Database to Documents **Backup Database to Documents** creates a copy of your database and saves it in the *Documents* folder of your device. Simply press the *Backup Database to Documents* button to use it. A notification window will pop up confirming your data backup and showing the name of the new file. We recommend [[AnimalTrakker® Database Backup Recommended Practices|backing up your database regularly]] as you work. ### Select New Database AnimalTrakker® is designed to allow swapping between databases on the fly. This is particularly useful if you raise multiple species, breeds, or flocks of animals and want to keep their data separate. After clicking **Select New Database**, navigate to location of the database file on your device. By default, your database files should be stored in **Documents** > **AnimalTrakker®** > **Databases**. Once AnimalTrakker® has finished loading the new database, you'll see a pop-up message. It will notify you of the number of animals currently in the active database. Press *OK* to proceed. ### Load Seed Database The **Load Seed Database** function allows you to start over with a fresh AnimalTrakker® database. Please make sure to [[Backing Up Your Database on a Tablet|backup your current database]] before loading the seed database, as the most recent changes to your data may be lost otherwise. As long as you retain a database backup, you can reload your previous database at any time. ## Quit The **Quit** button will close AnimalTrakker®.
