# AnimalTrakker® Farm Desktop Overview AnimalTrakker® Farm Desktop is an Electron-based application designed to interface efficiently with your SQLite Database. Its function is two-fold: to retrieve search results from the database, and to generate reports for veterinarians, farmers, and buyers seeking information about the flock. Currently, Farm Desktop's main function is generating helpful printable metrics that assist the farmer in managing their livestock. Eventually, Farm Desktop will be capable of functioning completely independently of [[AnimalTrakker® Farm Mobile Overview|Farm Mobile]], but [[Sending AnimalTrakker® Data|they're designed to be used together]]. AnimalTrakker® Farm Desktop is in active development, and current versions are still very much in the beta stage. Farm Desktop currently provides these reports: - Drugs given - Tissue samples taken - Animal notes - Evaluation results More are coming, as well as ways to enter in historical animal data. ## AnimalTrakker® Farm Desktop Registry Package AnimalTrakker® Farm Desktop is available with an optional **Registry Package**. This package allows you to use the robust livestock-tracking capabilities of Farm Desktop to run a purebred registry for your chosen stock. The Registry Package comes in two parts: [[AnimalTrakker® Registry Desktop Overview|Registry Desktop]] and [[AnimalTrakker® Registry Web Overview|Registry Web]]. Registry Desktop is the power behind your registry, and it's what the Registrar will use to make changes to the registry database. Registry Web is a browser-based portal that registry members can use to submit remote changes to the registry. These two applications work together to make registry management thorough, quick, and easy. Because each registry is unique, every one requires some degree of customization.
